What is Form 26AS :-
The facility to check the tax credit statement online is known as form 26as. Many assesses have no track records with respect to the tax paid by them or the various taxes deducted at source and paid on behalf of them, income tax department have provided a platform to track such records online for the convenience of assesses as well as the department basically form 26AS provides us:
~ An annual Statement
~ A consolidated Tax Statement.
~ Has all tax related Information associated with PAN.
It also shows how much tax has been received By the govt.
 •Form 26AS helps you figure out the total tax deducted at source and deposited, for the various Source of income you might have. It acts as a ready reckoner for finding TDS Already Deposited with INCOME TAX AUTHORITIES on behalf of the assessees.
How one can Access his Form 26AS
•To view the form online, you can visit the INCOME TAX DEPARTMENT'S e-filing website. http://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
•Log into Tax filing account using by the user name and password and can see the form.

•You would have to select the Tab view form 26AS (Tax Credit)  ,which can be found under "My Account " or " Quick links" Tab.
•Then you would have to specify the A.Y. of which you want to see and download the form.
•Alternatively assessee can download the form By Quoting Pan Number From " Traces website" http://contents.tdscpc.gov.in
•Many of the banks have also provided the facilities to assess/view Form 26AS from their respective Internet banking after logging in.
No need for Registration to view Form 26AS
Many facilities have been introduced by the income tax department under My Account For Registration  e-Fillers to view the tax Credit Statment (Form 26 AS)  to verify if the tax payments made by you or TDS deducted from salary or interest, Commission, professional fee, contractor payments etc.  Are correctly reported to the department or not, these facilities does not requires to register on the website.
